It is given that at \( x = 2 \) the function \( x^3 - 12x^2 + kx - 8 \) attains maximum value on the interval \( \). Find the value of \( k \).
24. Integrate the function: \( \frac{2 \cos x - 3 \sin x}{6 \cos x + 4 \sin x} \).
25. Show that \( f(x) = (x-1)e^x + 1 \) is an increasing function for all \( x > 0 \).

26. Evaluate the integral: \( \int \frac{\sin x}{\cos 2x} dx \).
OR
Evaluate: \( \int \frac{2x+1}{4-3x-x^2} dx \).
27. Evaluate: \( \int_{0}^{\frac{\pi}{2}} (2 \log \cos x - \log \sin 2x) dx \).
28. Find the particular solution of the differential equation: \( \frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{x(2 \log x + 1)}{\sin y + y \cos y} \) given that \( y = \frac{\pi}{2} \) when \( x = 1 \).

Solve the following differential equation: \( x^2 dy = (x^2 - 2y^2 + xy) dx \).
29. Solve the following linear programming problem graphically:
Minimise: \( Z = x + 2y \)
Subject to the constraints: \( x + 2y \ge 100 \), \( 2x - y \le 0 \), \( 2x + y \le 200 \), \( x \ge 0 \), \( y \ge 0 \).
OR
Determine the maximum value of \( Z = 3x + 4y \) for the feasible region (shaded) for an LPP shown in Fig.
30. Three persons A, B and C apply for a job of manager in a private company. Chances of their selection are in the ratio 1:2:4. The probability that A, B and C can introduce changes to increase the profits of a company are 0.8, 0.5 and 0.3 respectively. If increase in the profit does not take place, find the probability that it is due to the appointment of A.
31. Find the value of \( \frac{dy}{dx} \) at \( \theta = \frac{\pi}{4} \), if \( x = ae^{\theta}(\sin\theta - \cos\theta) \) and \( y = ae^{\theta}(\sin\theta + \cos\theta) \).
Section D (5 Marks Each)
32. Find the area bounded by the curve \( \frac{x^2}{16} + \frac{y^2}{9} = 1 \) bounded by the lines \( y = 0 \) and \( y = 2 \) using integration.
33. Let \( n \) be a fixed positive integer. Define a relation \( R \) in \( Z \) as follows: For all \( a, b \in Z \), \( aRb \) if and only if \( a - b \) is divisible by \( n \). Show that \( R \) is an equivalence relation.
OR
Let \( A = R - \{3\} \) and \( B = R - \{1\} \). Define a function \( f: A \rightarrow B \) by \( f(x) = \frac{x-2}{x-3} \). Is \( f \) one to one? Justify your answer.
34. Show that the lines \( \vec{r} = (2\hat{i} - 3\hat{k}) + \lambda(\hat{i} + 2\hat{j} + 3\hat{k}) \) and \( \vec{r} = (\hat{i} - \hat{j} - 4\hat{k}) + \mu(2\hat{i} + 3\hat{j} + 4\hat{k}) \) intersect. Also, find their point of intersection.
OR
Find the distance of a point \( (2, 4, -1) \) from the line \( \frac{x+5}{1} = \frac{y+3}{4} = \frac{z-6}{-9} \).
35. Given \( A = \begin{bmatrix} 1 & -1 & 1 \\ 1 & -2 & -2 \\ 2 & 1 & 3 \end{bmatrix} \) and \( B = \begin{bmatrix} -4 & 4 & 4 \\ -7 & 1 & 3 \\ 5 & -3 & -1 \end{bmatrix} \), find \( AB \) and use this result in solving the following system of equations:

36. Case Study 1: Read the following text carefully and answer the questions that follow:
Mr. Ajay is taking up subjects of mathematics, physics, and chemistry in the examination. His probabilities of getting a grade A in these subjects are 0.2, 0.3, and 0.5 respectively.
- Find the probability that Ajay gets Grade A in all subjects. (1 mark)
- Find the probability that he gets Grade A in no subjects. (1 mark)

37. Case Study 2: Read the following text carefully and answer the questions that follow:
A helicopter starts at an initial point \( A(1, 2, -1) \) and travels to point \( B(3, 1, 4) \). A tower is located at point \( C(-1, 3, 2) \). All coordinates are in kilometers.
- Write the displacement vector representing the helicopter's path from A to B. (1 mark)
- Find the area of the triangle formed by the points A, B, and C. (1 mark)
- Determine the unit vector in the direction of \( \vec{AC} \). (2 marks)

38. Case Study 3: Read the following text carefully and answer the questions that follow:
A tin can manufacturer designs a cylindrical tin can for a company making sanitizer and disinfectors. The tin can is made to hold 3 litres of sanitizer or disinfector. The cost of material used to manufacture the tin can is \( 100/m^2 \).
- If \( r \) cm be the radius and \( h \) cm be the height of the cylindrical tin can, then express the surface area as a function of radius (\( r \)). (1 mark)
- Find the radius of the can that will minimize the cost of tin used for making the can. (1 mark)
- Find the height that will minimize the cost of tin used for making the can. (2 marks)
